Today, after my 5-year-old finally got over his grandmother's death, we went to a store and saw a lady that looked exactly like her. She came up to us asking if we saw her grandson; I can't get my son to stop freaking out. FML

Wow that's kind of creepy, I think I'd be freaked out too.

Awe I'm so sorry that your son has to go through that. Death is such a difficult concept to grasp, even when you're older :/

That sounds traumatic. Hopefully time will erase this memory. Maybe you should do something fun with him soon to help it along. Good luck.

Your poor son! That's terrible. Good luck, OP.

Cross your fingers and hope he doesn't grow up to be on those psychic/ghost hunter program's....

Im the mother of a young child and I can't begin to imagine trying to handle that akward of a situation much less trying to explain it to the complex mind of a 5-year-old.

I have a five year old myself and I don't know what Id do in that situation.. Poor little thing. :(

I'm not sure of your beliefs, but maybe telling him that even though his grandma isn't around anymore, he'll still be able to feel her in his heart. That she's looking out for him and sometimes might send him signs that will remind him of her to show him she loves and misses him too. I'm sorry for your loss, I hope your son is doing okay!

wow I was in a similar situation when I was younger except it was my grandpa. I was young as well and still remember that day. it is creepy, but sad:/ sorry about your loss op and wish your son the best.

My deepest condolences. This is a true FML.

In what possible manner can someone get a "you deserve this"... Can any of these thumbs down people explain what I am missing?

They're trolls. People who choose ydi for every article because having a life is too hard for some people.

There's also no way to "unclick" it if you clicked it by accident. You can click both buttons and have it register, but you can't take it back if you didn't mean to click it. At least, it doesn't work on my computer.
