Today, after saving up for weeks, I bought myself an iPad. Because mine is better than the one my parents bought my ten-year-old brother, he got pissed and threw it into our pool. I'm now grounded for getting angry and calling him a bastard in the aftermath. FML

Today, while mopping the kitchen, I ended up slipping and and knocked over the table that had my mom’s iPad on it. The screen shattered; I sprained my wrist. I asked my mom to take me to the ER. She called me "selfish" because her iPad screen repair would "cost more." FML

Hi OP. I created an account just to comment on your fml ... be proud! 1. Sorry your bro is a spoiled brat. 2. Be thankful that at least your parents aren't spoiling you (too much) as evidenced by the fact that they made you save up for the ipad yourself rather than buying it for you. 3. It only took you "weeks" to save up for an ipad??!! I thought I was doing well by managing to save up $500 in about 5 months for health expenses (by scrimping on food for my family)! Maybe in a few years I'll have saved up enough to care about getting my second-generation ipod touch repaired or replaced but it's pretty far down the list of priorities atm. fyl, but not really. You have a lot to be thankful for!

That's a very condescending comment right there. Consider that OP probably has a job, as her parents are unlikely to make her save up for an Ipad, and then give her the money for it. Secondly, as you must provide food for an entire family, and OP still lives with parents it's likely there's a massive age gap. In fact it's likely that you make more money than OP, but just have greater expenses to pay. It's not really fair for you to be so dismissive of someone who's had something that they worked hard for destroyed, just because you're finding things difficult right now.
