Today, after spending thousands of dollars and several years pursuing a higher education so I could get a high paying job doing something that requires skill and brainpower, I finally got my first job offer after months of searching. I will be cleaning houses. FML

Exactly why I don't plan on going to college. Your just gonna work to pay off those 4 years

97 having a Business degree isn't a joke degree. It's very practical and not everyone in business needs to get a mba to have a great career in business. I can sympathize with you OP, I graduated two years ago and I have yet to acquire a full time job. But like other commenters have said, don't lose hope. The job market is brutal and it does take a few years before you find your ideal job. I recommend putting in your all at your current job-- sure the position isn't prestigious as you'd like but it is a job nonetheless that will help pay your student loans and your other bills. But although you may have this job, don't stop looking and applying for what you want. And if there are job agencies out there, I recommend you use them. Good luck!

ydi for not getting your first job earlier

sorry OP. Hope I don't sound inconsiderate when I say "that's life". we have to start somewhere. hopefully a better opportunity will come your way. work hard at whatever you do and it'll pay off in the end. good luck!

Don't take the job. Paying your bills NOW is not nearly as important as you think. Hold out for what you really want. The pickier you are now the happier you'll be later. Courage.

You should feel proud that you have found a job in this economy and that you are supporting yourself. It's just as honorable as any other job. In a few years time this work experience will be just as valuable on your resume as your college degree, because it shows character. Just hang in there and good luck.
