It's probably because you focused on the late work and put the current work aside. It happens to alot of people

It's probably because you're pressuring yourself too much. That's never helped anyone really... I know it's very difficult to get the balance right and, more importantly, keep up a balance that suits you; but you could start our by taking regular breaks or even a "lazy day", which would give you a huge boost. That's the advice from the Cambridge reject... XD

Perhaps you're just studying too much. If you study more of what you aren't good at as opposed to all-around studying, you would balance your time and not be so stressed. You're a hard worker, and you'll go far if you plan strategically. Don't be too stressed out, though. It'll affect your test scores.
