Today, an old lady came to the bank where I worked at to apply for a loan. She obviously didn't qualify for one as she has no income coming in. She looked so pitiful, so I changed a couple of her information so she could. She reported me and I got fired. FML

It's a good thing you tried to help her though! Didn't you see the movie, "Drag Me To Hell"???? Bad things could happen if you reject little old ladies!

You totally deserved that you moron. Giving out a loan to someone who cant repay it is like stealing. Where do you think the bank gets the money to hand out as loans? Other customers! That's right you dolt, banks use money from customers and reinvest .. that's how they make money, giving out bad loans is essentially giving away other peoples money! You're an ass.

she wasn't helping the lady she was putting her into a situation that she has no chance to succeed. she obviously wouldn't be able to repay the loan which means she could lose her home, car, etc. so why didn't you say to her how much do you need? if you want to give her money take it out of your own pocket.

banks giving loans to people who can't pay them back is the reason for the all mighty shit hole were in at the moment.

I hope the bank presses charges against you. You deserve it. The bank's obligations are towards those that have savings accounts there, not towards old ladies that walk in and try to get a loan. The reason we put money into a bank is because we like the safety that a bank offers but also because we recognize that if we pool our money together and have a company manage it with safe investments we can gain some interest on it in relative safety and with ease. By fudging some of the data, you just defrauded everybody who had even the slightest amount of money in the bank (maybe not legally thanks to all of the clauses in the terms and conditions, but definitely in spirit). That's probably going to be a lot of people.

I call bullshit. You wouldn't merely be fired for this, it's against federal law to knowingly submit false information on a loan document. Check the Truth in Lending Act. You would be in jail, not just unemployed.

She probably just didn't want any of that "Drag Me to Hell" crap to go down.

Wow, you're an idiot. I bet she would have looked pretty pitiful when it came time to pay said loan and she had no income. If you're feeling charitable, go volunteer or something instead of screwing everyone over.

Sorry that happened. I agree you shouldn't have done it but it's too bad you couldn't be charitable. Unfortunately it doesn't matter how you try to be good because like in this case 1) it wasn't an option and 2) people are shit.

people like you are the reason no one can pay their loans. Die in a fire... YDI
