Today, an old lady came to the bank where I worked at to apply for a loan. She obviously didn't qualify for one as she has no income coming in. She looked so pitiful, so I changed a couple of her information so she could. She reported me and I got fired. FML

It's a good thing you tried to help her though! Didn't you see the movie, "Drag Me To Hell"???? Bad things could happen if you reject little old ladies!

I kind of find it funny that many of those who commented blamed the recession on bankers. To me that is like blaming a MacDonalds employee for the obesity epidemic. Bankers do what they are told and nobody forces a person to get a lone they can't afford and banks are only a contributor the financial problems facing the world.

They're not saying its the bankers faults. They're saying its the customers who come in applying for loans, when they know damn well they can't pay it off.

I realize you were trying to be helpful, but cheating at your job was probably not the best idea. You could've done something better, like giving her some of your own money (crazy, right?) or some such. Sorry you lost your job; I hope this'll be a lesson to you at least. Try to be a little more fair to everyone next time; keep your eye on the big picture.

well at least you werent cursed with the lamia

yeah i agree with #188. at least u dont get drag to hell in a few days..lol.. that was a creepy a-- movie. i wouldve killed that old harpy for cursing me. either that or i wouldve given it to that guy at christina's work.

And that's why we're in a recession. GOOD TROLL OP!

You're an idiot. And no, I don't have any sympathy for you just because you were doing something nice for the lady, because that's just stupid. If someone comes into the store where I work buying something that's $25 and they only have $20 and change (and no credit/debit cards), I'm not going to tell them that that's okay and I'll just take that much. No, it's $25. If they don't have the money, they can leave and come back when they have it. Now, the lady is certainly evil considering you helped her and she reported you; regardless, I am glad that she did. Nev09 is completely correct. The recession started because people got loans for things due to low requirements and weren't able to pay them off. In that situation it's the person applying who's at fault, but helping the people who cannot pay off a loan to get one is like...seriously, do you have any common sense?

YDI. Give her your own money. Or get someone to co-sign. I'll bet she didn't "report" you. I'll bet someone else reviewed the numbers with her and she said "I don't have that income, someone changed the numbers!" and you got caught. You falsified someone else's loan application. If she didn't say something she would have be suspected of attempting fraud. You lied on a loan application, what is lieing on fmylife.
