Today, as a science teacher, I did a science experiment in front of a class. One of my students asked me if it was "photoshopped." He was being serious. FML

It amazes me how some of these kids have no perception and differentiation of reality and virtual reality... Or is this all a lie? Are we in the matrix?

quit being so quick to judge. I bet all of you have said something stupid without thinking about it at some stage in your life. Also lots of teachers posting about dumb students... Gee if only there was a place where young people who lack knowledge could go to shall we say be 'educated?' Perhaps in an environment where they are not mocked for lack of knowledge? Hmm an interesting idea

Whilst this is somewhat true, do realize that school is there to teach them things like mathematics, English, and give them valuable skills for adult life. School is not there to explain to kids that Photoshop doesn't work in real life.

What startles me is why he didn't post an FML

Hopefully you're a teacher in elementary or middle school, then they atleast have some hope left.

Well, "photoshopped" has probably lost its association with the image editing program for younger generations, much like the floppy disk image for any "save" icon, or "googling" something to conduct any online search. Language is a living thing.

My reaction would have probably been to assign the class to write a 5 paragraph essay explaining the details of how in the experiment caused the reaction and have the student in question include a sixth paragraph on what photoshop is and how to use it.
