i hate people that do this shit. i have a dual associate degree and I still work for walmart. studying hard does not guarantee you findimg a "real job" and if everyone with college education had those jobs there would be no one left to serve your ass at the store, your restaurant, or your fast food place.
I've worked in retail and people do assume this crap. Many have mentioned being in school, which is my situation. I learned something while I was working though and that's relative success. Some people may not be going to school but having any legitimate job is a huge success knowing where they've come from. I've worked with people that have fled their country and are supporting their family by working two retail jobs. There was one guy that sold drugs in high school to pay for a safe house to get his mom and brother away from his abusing dad. He quit selling drugs to get an honest job as a mechanic and quit that passion because he didn't want to scam people as he was pushed to by his superiors. Retail is for hardworking people.
There's no way he could know your circumstances. You could easily be in college now, & work part-time at grocery.
Who does this person think they are? Saying that to someone they don't even know.
Wow. I wonder what people like him would do without you and others working non "real jobs". For all he knows, you could be studying and working there to help pay for it. Don't worry about it op. It's a starter job. You'll find something better eventually.
He's right.
I work in a grocery store too and some people don't get that if no one was hired for these jobs, they wouldn't be able to use the store in the first place. A lot of people think they are above everyone else just because they went to college or uni.
Could be a part time while your still in school. He's an ass . I have a part time job while im at school .
Why are people trying to give working while in school as the option for why it's okay, it shouldn't matter if op is going through school. Even if op dropped out or didn't have money or support to go to college, they are working at a VERY "real" job.

Break his eggs.
We need people for all kinds of jobs, even the ones that require no special education. Judging peoples value based on their job is such bs.
