Today, as I was washing the dishes, I felt what I thought was a mosquito on my leg. I kicked at it with my foot only to realize that I had just kicked my adopted puppy in the face. Now, whenever I come into a room, he runs to the corner and pees. FML

puppies can come up and sniff you, and their whiskers barely brush you, and it feels like a bug.

How can a puppy rubbing against you feel like a mosquito?

Ok all you people freaking out because of the "poor defenseless puppy" and the "awful abusive owner" it was an accident I've stepped on my dogs tail before on accident that doesn't make me an animal abuser dogs arent always aware of their surroundings and they can get in the way at the wrong time and an accident is unavoidable I'm sure the puppy will be just fine so calm down.

There's a difference between stepping on a tail and kicking it in the face. Why would you even kick if a bug was on you? Would you not look to see so you could swat at it? I see no excuse here.

How the hell do u confuse a mosquito and a puppy??

That sucks OP. Just make sure your puppy knows you're not going to do it again. Comfort it

I love how most people on the internet encourage you to beat your kids for every little thing but freak the hell out when you suggest hitting a dog or animal for any reason. I don't think its the most effective method of training but dogs bite, hit, and jump on each other to show dominance all the time so it probably wont screw the dog up for life. Clicker training works better though.

This isn't about training an animal, so your comment is irrelevant. OP stupidly mistook their puppy for a mosquito and kicked it so hard in the face that it's traumatized. This was not related to training at all.
