Today, at 4 AM, I locked myself out of my apartment. After calling friends in vain, I decided to just sit on the doorstep and wait for someone to come in. I sat for 10 minutes before a homeless man insisted threateningly that I move. I was kicked off my own front doorstep by a homeless man. FML

As the OP, a few extra points: I'm female, he was about a foot taller than me, I'd come home from an 8 hour shift, and I called the cops once I'd moved down the street to a safe distance. If there had been people around, I'd have stood up to him, but I didn't want to add mugging to an already shitty day. But, at #29, I'll totally try that next time!

You should have triple roundhouse kicked him. It works on most homeless guys, basically what you do is take 5 steps back so you're about 2 metres away from them. Then you press right, right, up, circle, triangle, L1, circle, L2. Good luck!

YDI if you actually listened to him

sucks to get locked out. As far as the homeless guy, that's pretty creepy. Next time, try to throw some craziness their way. Like just start SCREAMING the ABC's or some song from the 80's. That'll freak anybody out.

#8 have you ever fought someone who has next to nothing to lose?

At least you have a place to go home to every night, a bed to sleep in, food to eat. Yeah, you're a pushover, so I guess that means your life is just horrible right?

Wow, just wow. Homeless people in general aren't in the greatest physical shape, you should have told him to piss off under the threat of getting his ass kicked, which, being out on the streets, he couldn't really afford. Grow a pair already.

#13- I was hoping someone would call me out on it because yes I have stood up to many homeless people. It never came to blows but I'm pretty intimidating and just yelling at them is usually enough to get them to back down. I live in Austin and homeless people are here all the time so you have to be ready.

It's YOUR doorstep You should have given your foot a new home in his ass.

#18 - I lived in Berkeley - very similar to Austin and I would be scared to yell at a homeless person. You just don't know. Some are fine, but some are on drugs or mentally unstable or a combination of the two, and it's really not worth the fight, maybe you are physically bigger and can be intimidating but not all of us are...

Shiittt! Where did you go after that? O:
