Today, at exactly midnight, I get a text from my boyfriend saying we were done. I had just seen him 4 hours ago when we were out celebrating my birthday, and asked why he didnt just tell me then. He replies 'I couldn't break up with you on your birthday but i wanted it to be over ASAP' FML

That's low, he's obviously been thinking about breaking up for a while, i doubt he came to the conclusion over night. He should have broken up sooner as to not ruin your birthday- waiting till midnight? Talk about a Cinderella Man. When something ends, it only leads to new beginnings. Happy Belated Birthday!

its 'sweet' of him not wanting to break up with you on your bday, but he could have at least waited until the next morning or week or whenever when he saw you in person again. breaking up over the phone is pretty rude.
