Today, at my job working retail, I had just finished cleaning and straightening a whole aisle. This kid watched me do the whole thing. When I was done, he stuck his arm out, and ran it down the whole shelf, knocking everything off it. His mother just grabbed his hand and walked away. FML

when mom's do that it means you will be in deep shit when we get home but I'm too embarrassed to make you help clean it up

Being embarrassed is all part of being a parent. So is teaching your child accountability and basic human decency. She failed her child and society by walking away, no matter what happened when she got home.

I'm pro spanking, def would've spanked my kid right then and there. made him walk over and sincerely apologize and pick up every single item.

^^^ I agree. I wouldve done the same. My son would have put them back the right way and he would have apologized right then and there. That woman should be ashamed of herself. She seriously failed at using the opportunity to teach a valuable lesson on accountability.

Sadly, even a swat on the butt gets CPS called now. Or hell, the FML about their baby screaming in joy at night got CPS called. It's sad, people are getting to where they can't tell the difference between abuse and punishment anymore.

Working retail allows you to see just how lousy some people are at parenting. I feel your pain OP, people let their heathen children do the same thing at my work.

I would have stopped him and told him not to do that. If a parent isn't going to teach their child in a public place it sure as hell won't stop me.

You should hold your arm out and run a key down the side of their car :)

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I wonder if maybe she felt really bad about it but was too shy and embarrassed to even apologize. I'm not making excuses or anything because she should have corrected her son, but there is a chance that she has good morals but doesn't have the balls to teach them. Hopefully she at least did something to punish him at home, even though it wouldn't have as great of an impact.

check the moderation. either it's a coincidence, fake or the other person but there is someone claiming their child did this.

I just saw a moderation for one that said her kid knocked everything off the isle and didn't know what to do so she just took him and left?!?!

are you being serious or are you just screwing with us?

as someone who's spent 6 and a half hours stocking aisles, I can understand how angry you were
