Get out while you can!
I only thumbed because I pictured the little dog saying that haha.
Oh I so don't miss office work. Been in a few like that myself. I just hope it was a bad, abnormal occurrence. Keep your head down and your resume out there just in case.
OP: Your manager sounds like a bully. No one should ever be shouted at while at the workplace unless of course the person shouting is yelling "Fire", "Danger" or something very similar, let alone have a laptop thrown at them. As this manager can potentially make your life a living hell in the future you may want to encourage the person on the receiving end to document the incident and have them report this to HR. Hopefully you and a few colleagues will be brave enough to support your colleague and you can successfully have the bully reprimanded or removed from your workforce.
Hope you kept that resume handy!
God it sounds like my workplace. Staff are dropping like flies.... Not the best place to work & stay sane....
Have video ready at all times. Get this on tape. Sue company. Never Work Again.
Sorry but it's legal if you are the manager. I knocked out cold 4 of my fast-food employees last month and never had any legal issue: i put a little paragraph for that in the contract! And the customers love it!
I once got in trouble for punching this old fart of a cleaner bitch. It did take a lot of paper work to get her off my back and fire her... but now i have the respect of my employees again.
#33: Yeah, it's totally your employees' fault. They should know not to piss you off when you're having your period. #35: Trust me, princess, none of your employees respect you. If you punched out a 6'4 ex-convict, maybe. But an old lady? Yeah, you're a pansy-assed little b*tch.
This reminds me of that SNL skit with Will Ferrel and Pierce Brosnan
IT job security.... When they cash and burn is when you shine.

Good luck Op!!!
That sounds like an episode of the Office. I can totally see Michael Scott doing that to somebody...
