Today, at school, I got stuck in the elevator and was about to panic before I remembered I had my phone. I called my mother and she called the school to tell them that I was stuck. They got me out in a few minutes and then confiscated my phone and gave me two detentions for using it in school. FML

Have the schools head on a platter for unreasonable treatment. This was an emergency situation in which you had no other choice. You were not disrupting a class or using it for conversation. Maybe you could have pushed the emergency call button in the elevator, but that's no excuse for the school's actions.

Doesn't elevators come with emergency ring and intercom?

I agree with artsavage...if the elevator didn't have an intercom you had to use your cell phone. I wouldn't take this one lightly even though it's two detentions and your cell phone, which they cannot keep and must return your personal property.

Uhm... cellphones actually works in elivators..

YDI. For one, I'm sure the school isn't 10 stories. Stop being so lazy and take the stairs. Secondly, if you can't use your phone in school, why even bring it? So yes, you deserve it for using your phone in school when you shouldn't even have it in school.

Err... your comment is like condensed autism. Why use the stairs if the elevator is easier. It's like telling a rugby player to run in bare feet. And he can use his phone in school, he DID use his phone in school, it got him out of an elevator. I like to dramatize things so.... him having his phone for that emergency is like a civilian having a gun to shoot a terrorist who is about to attack, yeah he isn't sposed to have it but it did more good than evil. Peace!

Schools have rules. You knew that and you chose to break that rule in order to get you out of an unpleasant situation. Your school is teaching you that life can be hard and it can seem unfair. Sounds like good preparation for the real world to me.

how else would u get out of the elevator dickwad?

The no cell phone rules has the exception of using it in an emergency situation. This clearly was an emergency and your school would have to make the exception. Likely not a true story.

what are you talking about? he needed to get out, and schools assume that no one is in the elevators when they don't call. I knew a friend who didn't call and was stuck there for hours.

When I was in HS we had an elevator for the disabled kids and unfortunately also for the fat teachers (because they didn't want to take one flight of stairs??). Anyway, in order to even get on the elevator, you had to have a pass from the office which would be given to you if you had a disability or a broke leg/foot or something.

Should have taken them stairs (unless you're disabled or physically unable to). Of course, you could be Fatty McGee... "Fatty McGee, why do you keep taking the stairs?" "[wheezing uncontrollably] I like the stairs! [still wheezing] They're fun!" "Oh, Fatty McGee. You're the fattest!"
