So, does that make you a motherfu*king ptherodactyl now?
"Atresia ani"..common in dairy cattle. As a veterinarian I hope you sedated it, before you cut the poor animal.
They weren't new. The calf was.
I bet five bucks that the poor animal was just tied up and had that done to it with being sedated or even cleaned.
Sure, just assume that because OP did saved this calf themselves that they didn't bother basic infection prevention, which if an infection took would completely defeat the purpose of doing it in the first place. There is a possibility that the calf was not sedated but that being said, mulesing is done to lambs without pain relief as are many other procedures. Assumptions make an asshole out of yourself.
I'm sorry, but on this post? "Make an asshole," really? xD
What the hell did I just read
This is more of an FML for the calf. "Today, I'd only been alive a few hours, I had the worst stomach ache, and then some guy actually had to rip me a new one. FML."
I feel absolutely terrible for both OP and the calf :( What a tremendously painful experience that would have been. I just hope the calf will be alright soon!
That had to be the grossest FML I have ever read.

You out that cow through a lot. Talk about tearing it a new one...
No one deserves to experience that. FYL (was it like opening a can of coke that had been shook?)
