Today, at work I was told I'd be working over Christmas because I don't drink. Apparently if you're tee-total, you're not entitled to spend time with your family and are incapable of having fun. FML

Tee-total means that you do not drink alcohol. Ever. FYL for having a crappy work enviroment. Get it in writing and then take it up with higher management . . . Personally I think you should get extra time off for not wasting company time with hangovers like the others!

I don't drink either so I get early morning shifts at weekends, bank holidays and new years day!!!

you should probably start looking for a new job that will let you spend time with your family for chrismas i mean seriously i would

You have my sympathy. I don't drink either, and I am the one that always ends up looking after drunk friends and driving them home. And I get accused of 'not having fun'. I have plenty of fun, I just like to avoid the cost and hangover the next day. (alc is heavily taxed in Australia and costs heaps) I don't see why alcohol has to be part of every occasion for people to have fun. It's a real shame really.. Good on you for staying away from the alc.

The thing that prevents non-drinkers from having fun is the idiot friends who get wasted and then depend on us to get them home and not leave them passed out in a puddle of their own puke. Personally, I can go out and have fun without a drop of alcohol in my system, I still get to remember the good bits and I probably wasn't involved in the bad bits. My drinks cost a fraction of what the others have to pay and don't result in a hangover. This OP seriously needs to approach his HR department or something, though. This is discrimination, even if it's not defined by a common minority.

And, if you're the non-drinker, you have the better memory of all the stupid crap your friends did while drunk. Blackmail material!

"Tee-total" is an old-timey term. They're known nowadays as "straight-edge", which also includes not taking any drugs.

Not always. Some people can't drink alcohol for various reasons - I'm on twice-daily medication that shouldn't be mixed with alcohol, but health-wise I'd be fine smoking marijuana.

ummm whats op ? i know dumb question . but not familiar with the FML abbreviations .
