Seems like OP is a little shaken and not stirred.
That really sucks. I hate it when you get shit on around the holiday season because you are actually a good employee who works, which is what it sounds like this comes down to. Those are the people who should be rewarded, instead they are punished because other people are incapable. I think everywhere should be closed on Christmas. It actually kind of pisses me off that anyone who is going to do something like call a place of business, go out to eat, or whatever on Christmas will throw a fit if they can't do those things, but would be the first person to throw a fit if someone wanted them to work on Christmas. I understand with some businesses like airports, hotels and some gas stations. It just seems like now days it's really overboard. I don't need to see a movie on Christmas, send the poor teenager home to see their family for awhile and let their manager go home to their kids.
Not everyone celebrates Christmas or New Years. I'm a manager in a retail store and know that booking time off around Christmas is pretty much impossible. If you want Christmas holidays, book them off at the beginning of the year. With that much notice, they actually can't refuse - especially if you're not getting paid vacation.

Don't forget medical places; clinics, hospitals, emergency centers, etc... I think it's really stupid for the more serious ones to EVER be closed. Our local animal hospital is closed on weekends, as if animals just conveniently stop dying on the weekends. (Our local people clinic pulls this too, but at least that's usually for minor things...) OP, that's really shitty of them, though.
I feel for you OP! I'm straight edge, never had to work because of it but I take a lot of crap from my friends. All in fun. Just remember, it's worth it because you and I are living healthier, better lives than those drunken, addicted losers! ;)
19, people like you freaking annoy me. Don't act all high and mighty, you aren't better than drinkers just because you don't drink. And I'm tee-total too, incidentally, but not because it makes me better than anyone else. And when you diss people for drinking, you make all tee-totallers look like arrogant twats. And for me personally health has nothing to do with it. I just don't like being drunk, and I don't like the taste of alcohol so there is no reason for me to drink. But I don't look down on people who do because it's personal choice. So 19, I'd appreciate it if you could stop acting so far up your own arse. It's making others like us look bad. Thanks.
19, you're an abosolute twit. Not everyone who drinks is automatically addicted, and not all drinking results in unhealth (in fact, a couple alcohols are GOOD for you). Don't judge an activity based on the assholes involved in it. Are you against playing sports because of the steriod happenings?
:/ I know how you feel, I'm tee-total too and seem to get punished for it. Only, I get the piss taken out of me for being "lightweight" and too "scared" to drink. It's so stupid how people get that reaction just for daring to be different. And yeah, I agree with #7, file a discrimination complaint :)
Tell them you don't drink because the booze screws up the rush you get when you shoot up a speed-ball. But seriously what kind of boozer losers do you work for anyway? Look for another job.
Bosses will make you work for no reason.
It means Tea-Total, you only drink Tea or non alcoholic drinkings.
actually no. You get the spelling fail: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/teetotaller

Tee-total means that you do not drink alcohol. Ever. FYL for having a crappy work enviroment. Get it in writing and then take it up with higher management . . . Personally I think you should get extra time off for not wasting company time with hangovers like the others!
what's tee-total?
