Today, at work I was told I'd be working over Christmas because I don't drink. Apparently if you're tee-total, you're not entitled to spend time with your family and are incapable of having fun. FML

Tee-total means that you do not drink alcohol. Ever. FYL for having a crappy work enviroment. Get it in writing and then take it up with higher management . . . Personally I think you should get extra time off for not wasting company time with hangovers like the others!

On the bright side, you are fantastic in bed :) munchkin.

I've never been told I'm less fun for being sober, actually, and I can't drink for medical reasons. Does that make you horribly butthurt? The idea that some people don't drink seems to offend you personally for some reason.

As effed up as the resulting situation is, it IS based on a sort of compliment: We can count that you will be capable of working well, we can't say the same for the known drinkers who will probably be too hungover to function. Damn irritating and unfair to be dumped on because you're dependable, but at least you have their trust.

that sucks.. it happened to me this yr aswell, but im pregnant! so instead of spending christmas eve, boxing day and new years eve with family and friends, i got to spend them working behind a bar watching everyone else having fun.. fml me thinks! =]

I'm sure op is a self righteous douche about it. I wouldn't consider myself a drinker either but I don't go around preaching about it so no one at work knows..

Did your boss tell you that (FYL) or are you insinuating (YDI)? How do you know you're just not the only one who didn't request that day off?

Maybe you should start drinking! Just kidding. Drinking is a bad habit and I think they should reward you for not drinking.
