Today, due to a health insurance mix up, my schizophrenic girlfriend has been off her meds for a little over a week. She's convinced I can read her mind, and if I don't stop "pretending" she'll slit my throat in my sleep. Her medication won't be available for at least another two weeks. FML

Just an update, she is in the hospital doing better, and my throat is in tact. And for everyone telling me to leave her, its not gonna happen

Take her to the e.r. They have to give her medication when it is this serious

911! Urgent care! Psychiatric Emergency! Pick one! Death threats should not be taken lightly! Seriously, call 911! the hospital will have her meds.

Have you tried saying what you think is on her mind? haha just kidding. This is serious and you need to take her to the hospital.

I think it's cute that, even though she threatened you and is off her meds for the mean time, you still stay beside her; and if worse comes to worse, take her to the ER to get a substitute until she gets her meds.

That sucks OP. I know what it's like to be with a schizophrenic person that hasn't taken their pills in a while, it's a very scary thing. I hope that things change in your favor soon so nobody gets hurt.

Lots of good advice here. Last resort, psych ward. Don't bet your life on that pseudo-boyfriend guy psychology!!!

Yep! The US healthcare system sucks, but Obama is trying to fix it.

Well I know I wouldn't waste any time dating someone like you.

Call 911 and have an ambulance restrain her and take her to the ER. They can help her there.

Run away. Time for a new girlfriend.

It really makes me smile that you love her for who she is though you might call her doctor and see what he/she can do
