Today, my girlfriend dumped me because I've recently become serious about getting fit, and have lost nearly 84 pounds. Apparently, when I was fat, I made her look smaller in comparison. When I got slimmer, she insisted I either gain the weight back or she'd leave. So she did. FML

I agree with 56, he lost a lot more than just weight. You clearly loved him for more than his appearance, and although he may have improved his health he just lost the most important part of his life in your support and appreciation. You're better off if this is the way he repays you for your devotion to him.

My ex left me also for a similar reason. A month later he was blowing up my phone and FB for nearly a year as he couldn't find another relationship that lasted longer than three days. To my knowledge still hasn't. Point being is they almost always come back at some point when they can't get the same love elsewhere that they are used to. Either way, I wish you luck OP.
