Today, feeling too lazy to cook dinner, I bought a bagged salad from a low-end store. I dumped the contents into a bowl; the first thing that fell out was a dead mouse. Bon appetit. FML

If you knew its low-end why did you bother eating there... Not saying that low-end stores should have an exception for mice though. YDI

The mouse probably got into the bag when the salad was being packaged, and if that's the case, it's not the store's fault and it has nothing to do with them.

I've heard that animal and insect contaminants are allowed in food products if the remains are in small enough pieces, but never an entire critter. Unfortunately this is not an uncommon occurrence. Every now and then someone discovers strange and disgusting things like this packaged with a variety of food and drinks (their photos and horror stories are online). I'd like to say this can happen almost anywhere and to even the best and most pristine factories/plants/warehouses, but I like to entertain the notion that the cheaper and lower-quality the product, the better the chances are of experiencing something like this.
