Today, five minutes into a first date with a woman I really wanted to impress, we got on to a very busy train. I was so concerned with making sure that my backpack didn't get caught in the closing doors that I forgot to worry about my head. FML

Hi everyone-OP here. In answer to some of the questions: - My backpack is silver and pretty small. I use it instead of a handbag because I'm prone to losing bags that aren't strapped to me through putting them down and leaving them places. - The date was pretty standard- drinks and a meal at a cool bar. Nothing crazy in the backpack! - The doors are curved on the tubes here. In addition, we were literally packed in so close that I could have had full intercourse with like 5 strangers where I was standing. I thought I was clear of the door but apparently not. I laughed it off and she was very sympathetic. My head feels okay now but I did have a bit of a headache for a while! - Other than that, we had a fun date but we didn't really click and we've agreed to just be friends. Thanks for all the comments!

Yeah, this is a problem I too have faced while crawling backwards everywhere. Eventually, I moved on to crab walking, but it wasn't the easiest few years.

Personally, I find a sharp knife and bone-cutter to be the easiest way to someone's heart.

Don't worry, OP. If you're otherwise a decent person, a simple accident isn't going to be a deal breaker. Unless she's totally shallow, in which case you're better off without anyway. I hope your head's okay.

If that was me on the date, I'd have found the funny side. Life is too short to date serious people! These things happen on transportation. Laugh it off and carry on! :) let us know how you got on?

As someone who's gotten their finger nabbed by the tube train doors, I can't imagine how painful your head would be

This was the tube too! Fml moderated it to say train, I guess so everyone would understand. But yeah, those doors slam hard and fast. Sorry about your finger, that made me wince!

I'm just curious what kind of date involved a backpack. I'm not knocking it - it sounds like it would have been something original and more creative than your standard first date.

I'm sure she thought it was endearing! Hope you're okay.

I thought it was pretty clear that she DIDN'T get a 'happy ending' ;P

I feel you OP. I also lose things when I set them down so my main form of clothing are carharts. Also I'm tall and lumbering so I smack my head a lot. Nearly speared myself on a mounted deer a few times.

That sounds so painful! Glad you're doing okay though, OP!

bahahahahaha....thanks OP for being you!!!!
