Maybe you shouldn't have had such high expectations. Did you really expect your girlfriend to know you were getting her a 400$ necklace? At least she remembered and got you something. Not everyone has hundreds of dollars to spend on gifts.

are you kidding? guys are very easy to shop for. Here's a quick list for you: knives powerful lasers (dealextreme.com) guns (pellet, paintball, etc) speakers electronics (nintendo DS, mp3 player, games, gaming console, ebook reader) guitar weights fireworks/explosives camping gear tools any accessory for his vehicle or if he's a bit of a geek, swords or action figures basically if it can build, destroy, shoot, or flash and make noises, a guy will like it. guys actually have to use their imagination to come up with something thoughtful if they don't want to spend a shitload of moneys

Lasers, wtf??? Dr. Evil, is that you. "Sharks with LAZERS on their heads!" :-D. But guys are extremely easy to shop for, women on the other hand... not so much. We don't know what kinda jewelry you like, you may not like the smell of perfume we give you, clothing may not be "your style". Lol guys are easy, just get him something you know he likes (video games or sporting gear or whatever he's into).
