Today, for my birthday, my friends and family gave me: A Wii Fit, a free year at the gym and a book of diet recipes. They didn't consult with each other. I've asked for "something corresponding to me". FML

YDI. You phrased that wrong. Next year, say: "Something that I would enjoy." Then, you won't necessarily get weight loss shit, but something you're gonna be happy with. But anyway, you might as well take advantage of your gifts, fat ass :)

Did the person SAY they were ungrateful for the presents? No. It's obviously just a little bit of an unpleasant feeling to receive presents suggesting that you lose weight. FML isn't about criticizing other peoples FML's. Just read the FML and think to yourself 'Hmm.. that does stink. Glad it's not me' and then go on your merry way. Besides look at the rest of you guys, wasting your life criticizing other people's FML's. Awesome life.

People put FML's on here to vent and because they're funny. Not to have people call them fat or say why they should be happy with their life. Nobody knows them or knows what's going on with their life. So don't be jerks and tell them what they are doing wrong.

Ok before you fly off into an offended tizzy, I'm willing to bet they all got you those presents because you have at least *mentioned* wanting to diet/get more fit/lose weight/any variation on this theme. I don't believe that not one, but THREE friends and family members would (on your birthday no less!) take the time to drop such expensive and potentially hurtful hints unless you prompted them somehow. I'm sure they think they are giving you exactly what you wanted, this is not some conspiracy plot to hurt your feelings or call you a lard-ass.
