Blue you are telling only half truths. As an actual cop if someone hits your car you're required to call another unit since you're now a victim in the crash. Real under cover cops won't give their cover away and will act like a civilian and call the cops too for the accident. An officer in an unmarked car cam ticket you and even if not in a uniform still can. if you are acting as a officer of the law you must present ID/badge to show your law enforcment status. you as the citizen can request a marked car for your safety or call 911 to verify it. You can't refuse the ticket or drive off, that is illegal and will only cause you more problems. Any cop will identify himself just to avoid all these problems. Your law class is not all inclusive to every state same as my actual law enforcement experience isn't either.

Wish this post was higher up because you make a lot of sense here. I'll ask you the same question I asked Blue-- is this a federal thing, and if so does that override state and local laws? Also, I wonder if you'd mind reading my post up there ^ at 261 and commenting on the pulling over thing. If I'm on an empty road at night and I'm getting pulled over, can I drive to a well-lit place with other people before pulling over? I'm a little paranoid about that.

faiiiiilllllllll. wow the one ca u dont wanna hit

This seems to have the makings of an Eddie Murphy movie. I hope you had a witty one liner in your reparte.
