Today, I agreed to lend my daughter's inflatable pool to my neighbor for the day. Barely an hour later, I witnessed his son jump off their balcony, missing the pool by inches. He's now in hospital, and my neighbor has sworn to sue me, saying I'm responsible because the pool is mine. FML

Counter sue him for the distress and trauma that you and your pool suffered from having to watch it.

Where is the proof to win the case? Case closed...you shouldn't put down a dime...

well hey you will win the trial.

Lmao, you should've laughed in his face... He can't sue you for his soon being an idiot! What kind of dumbass do you have to be to jump from a balcony into a kiddie pool... And miss lmao! You have nothing to worry about...

I doubt they will be able to sue you. I mean, they can always try but from what you said happened it was all on their property and, since they have seen the pool before, they were aware of its size and depth, so there isn't really much they can claim was your fault. I, however, would talk to a lawyer just to be safe and see what they could claim to be your fault so you can figure out a counter to their accusations. Good luck! Hope things don't get ugly!

The sad thing about this is that if the neighbor sues OPs insurance company, they may actually settle out of court, even if the suit is baseless. Then they jack up OPs rates. It's a ****** up world in which we live.

At least it's very likely you'll win the lawsuit...

why are you even worried if you know for a fact that you didnt do anything legally wrong?
