Today, I am currently grounded for three weeks, have no car, cell phone, or television privileges, and am not allowed to spend more than 10 minutes on the computer a day. The reason why: I was seven minutes past my 9'oclock curfew. I'm 18. FML

so you spent your ten computer minutes to write an fml? that's kind of fml worthy in itself.....

if you are paying for your own car, phone etc then your parents can't really stop you using them, and if they try then it might not be legal. but if your parents pay for this stuff then i guess there's nothing you can do, except get a job and pay for it all yourself, if you can. if i were in your situation i'd move out fo sho, but like #102 said you might need their financial support for your education, in which case i guess you don't have much choice.

I am sixteen and my curfew is 11, only because I can't legally drive later than that. As long as I behave responsibly and keep in touch about who I'm with and where I'm going, they let me do whatever I want (within reason). Have a talk with your parents. Talk about gaining more privileges if you can prove to them that you're responsible. And next time, don't miss curfew, as ridiculous as it might be. :)

The same thing happened to me last week, but I ended up getting home two minutes before the curfew. I was enraged. I had to get home at 10. If I had a better job I'd move the hell out.

your parents are bitches. :/ save up and get your ass out of there as fast as possible, FYL.

Yes, you have a choice. Get out. Most people **** up their first go at college, and they'll just use that to constrict their slimy tentacles around you even further. It wasn't how I grew up, but it'll be good for you to get away from the psychological games ASAP.

Serves you right. Get on your own feet and move out.

Why? Not everyone is magically ready to go out on their own the minute they hit eighteen. He needs to make sure he can make it on his own before just moving out on a whim. I can hardly see why anyone says he deserves it.
