Today, I arrived at work to find an email from the manager whom I had bought concert tickets from the night before. He said he had actually sold those tickets to someone else. He still expects to be paid. FML

This is retarded, considering anyone in their right mind would tell him to **** off...

simply tell him you still expect delivery of the tickets

you can tell him nicely to suck it! basically tell him "will I be receiving the tickets? no? then don't be expecting a payment".

No big deal if you haven't already paid him, just don't pay him. If you have paid, threaten to call the police.

I don't quite get it. If you already bought them, then you've already paid for them. If you haven't paid for them, then you haven't bought them yet. Your story in incomprehensible. Besides that, if there's no product or service to still available for transfer, payment is not required. You had a verbal contract, and your boss broke it; you don't need to pay anything. If it comes back to haunt you in any way, you can take him to court. If it costs you your job, you can sue for compensation average to the amount of time that you're unemployed. I fail to see where the FML is.
