Why in God's name would you get TWO Ph.Ds?
Because you could not get a job in the real world. "Those who can't, teach".
You should remind your father if it weren't for teachers, people such as himself wouldn't be where they are today ...especially since he's a professional student.
Yes I agree with this statement.. people are so quick to say teachers are stupid, but seriously, where would we be without them? With 2 PhD's, he should have the kind of job where he can afford to pay your tuition, or at least help.
My uncle has two PhDs and he's a full physics prof with tenure. Two PhDs doesn't equal professional student, for the record. It does tend to equal 'douchebag' I've found out with said uncle and apparently her dad. OP: He's a jerk. Hopefully your FAFSA qualifies you for at least some subsidized loans. It's not a parent's job to completely fund college, but if you asked, it seems like your dad had the ability to help and chose not to. College is hard enough with or without parental support for even the upper middle class.
Get loans. Not that you'll ever pay them back on a teacher's salary. How about studying for a real job?
that is so rude! teaching is a real job! did you go to school? if not, that's not the problem of the teachers. and if so, you can thank them for the knowledge you have today. you wouldn't be educated without teachers.
Sounds like your dad is a douchebag
You'd think a person with two PHDs would value the education of his children enough to help them out however he could. Also, most institutions (all state-run institutions) calculate a student's financial aid based upon his/her family's ability to contribute to his/her education. The US higher education system is set up with the burden of paying for education being a family's responsibility and the student actually loses out more on help if parents who can help refuse to. I'm sorry your dad's a douchebag.
better hit the textbooks...

"when you get a full time job paying 50,000 a year then yes I will" "... But dad I want a lollipop!" This works in basicly the same way as said fml. Kinda harsh.
Loans. It's what everyone else has to do.
