Today, I asked my friend to stop texting me, because I'm on a limited plan and didn't want to go over my limit. She responded by getting a group of her friends to text bomb me. I got well over a hundred one-word texts. FML

Sounds like you need to upgrade to unlimited texting!

I'm not sure I understand...... You get charged for receiving texts??? That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard >.> I don't recall having ever heard of this until today. I think I'll just stay in beautiful Australia where communication is actually encouraged :)

So because OP got a shitload of text messages, they should just start forking out extra cash for a service they don't use? I don't understand the logic.

WTF? In the US you get charged for receiving texts? That's such a rip off. Move to the UK, OP, you only get charged to receive texts or calls if you're abroad then.

You have to pay to recieve texts? This is hilarious! :D

Reminds me of when Karl Pilkington was abroad Ricky Gervais would send him texts that just said "70p" haha

That is not a friend. That is a ****, plain and simple. Now you know who she really is; dump her. I personally would beat her ass first, but that's just me.

So? Its free to receive texts and calls. Or at least, it SHOULD be. What kind of stupid plan do you have?! I've never been charged for receiving texts and calls.

OP is from the US. Over here, there are tiered plans. You pay like $5/month for 200 texts, $15/month for 1500 texts, and $20/month for unlimited. If you don't buy a plan, or go over your plan, then you pay $0.25 per text sent AND received.

Ah, OK. That's still a stupid plan. Specially seeing the amount of text spam I get... no wonder you never see Americans on TV texting.

It is when your getting charged for them and living on a budget

ydi for living in a country that makes you pay to revieve a msg. such a stupid concept, it's like paying for the mail when it comes into your letterbox
