dump her for being such a bitch for doing something like that...she didn't have anything else to sell? goes to show she didn't appreciate it. I understand it's important to pay your bills but that's messed up.
Show her the recipt of how much is worth, tell her to get you the necklace, or money back.. and if you're still with her.. I feel sorry for you... :/
I feel for you. My ex-wife did the same. She traded all the jewelry I gave her over 15 years for meth for her and her friends to smoke up in one weekend.
Wow, FYL for having a crack ***** for an ex-wife
Why the heck would you buy anyone such an expensive present? That's just asking for it. When will people learn? Expensive presents are just lose-lose situations. If the relationship is fail, you're ******, you'll regret it and you'll probably never get it back. Even if the relationship works out okay, next year (or next month if you're a retard who celebrates monthly anniversaries etc.) you're going to have to spend even more to top it. Plus someone who unashamedly accepts such expensive gifts are probably spoilt, arrogant just plain greedy.
At least she can get it back. Anyway, why on earth would you pay $1500 for a necklace? I'd kill my husband if he spent that much on any piece of jewellery other than an engagement ring. And perhaps it means you got ripped off if the necklace is only worth $300 :P
It doesn't mean it was only worth $300... It just means the pawn shop owner was lucky enough to find someone dumb enough to take $300 for it.
sharp ! you are the business genius !

So go to the pawn shop, get it back & give it to someone who cares enough to keep it.
Run. My first wife pulled something like this just before she got pregnant (on purpose). I went into the marriage with no debt and money in the back and filed a joint bankrupcy for $200,000 about two years later. It is obvious she cannot handle her business and $1500 is a small price to pay to find this out.
