Today, I asked my mom if she could buy me some anti-nausea medicine. She said, "You just have a stomach ache. It's not like you're throwing up." As she said it, I threw up everything but my childhood memories. She still wouldn't get any medicine. FML

Shleebs tells us more.

I actually threw up in her room and in her bathroom. She had to clean it up. I think justice was served.

I'm here! Sorry I'm late, guys. I was bothering some people elsewhere. The apostrophe wasn't necessary, bud. Thanks for trying though. NAZI AWAAAAAAAY! :D

While I'm sorry you're sick OP (feel better soon!) I must say I am going to use "threw up everything but my childhood memories" to describe the next time I'm sick.

Haha I move the writing in this FML! I'm sorry for how your mom is being, though. Your mother is supposed to provide these basic things. I think what you should do is find out how much the generic brand of medicine is at the store, grab her purse and make sure the cash is in there, then take the money, walk up to her and say, "Mom, I need medicine. I am going to the store to buy some." then leave without really giving her time to respond. It sounds rude, but I think it's what you need to do. FYI, I think this is borderline child abuse...

One day she will need a good nursing home, remind her of that.

None of us got to pick our Mom, right? Some people make great parents and others don't. Looks like you got stuck with one of the ones that sucks at being a Mom. Good luck with that. At least you know what you can expect from her in life. Looks like you are on your own.

I actually have a fantastic mom. She did a wonderful job raising three children by herself, without government assistance. The only reason I posted this is because I thought the timing on what she said and me throwing up was notable and laugh-worthy. I don't understand why some people are being so extreme and saying she's a horrible person, neglectful, etc,. I'm 19, almost 20 years old, I would have gone to the store myself if I could, but I was too ill. My mom is a lovely person and anyone would benefit from having her in their lives. Oh, and I'm feeling much better because she brought me soup and yummy flavored water. (:
