Today, I attempted to ask a girl out by doing a flash mob and singing for her in the store where she works. Turns out, she suffers from anxiety and the overwhelming amount of attention caused a panic attack. No, I didn't get a date. FML

That's a bummer. I have similar anxiety issues, and I'd probably have had a panic attack over that as well, but I'd have been able to see that you were just trying to do something nice and I'd have given you a shot. Sorry it didn't turn out for you.

No. No she shouldn't. Making a grand gesture does not obligate the recipient to date you or anything else. Op shouldn't have put her in that position, it was selfish of him to place her in the spotlight like that. Especially for a first date. Op: YDI

I have severe anxiety and panic attacks.. That said, I would still be flattered if someone went to all that trouble just to ask me out on a date :)
