I think you're all being too harsh on OPs husband. Yes, it was disrespectful of him. But at least he went to support her during this difficult time. He could have just as easily stayed home to read FMLs. I know when both of my uncles died, we weren't close so I didn't even go to either funeral. If mum had been more upset I might have, but yeah. OP probably wasn't too upset in that exact moment, or her hubby would have been consoling her; I'm sure of it.
The point is that if he really was there for his wife he should've been consoling her during the funeral or at the very least acting sympathetic, not laughing his ass off. It means he WASN'T there to support her, but out of some assumed obligation on his part, which makes him a jackass. Hell, I hope the husband reads this fml and feels terrible.
I am so sorry OP! For both your mothers passing and your husbands insensitvity. I hope your husband realizes it is not okay for him to do so, and my deepest sympathies regarding your mother. RIP
You need to give his a** SUCH a chewing-out!
Well chances are he will see this post
I would have smacked the damn phone out of his hand. I've got a funeral to attend myself in a couple days, and I can't even imagine how pissed I'd be if that happened.
wow...
Sorry for your loss. He probably shouldnt of done that.
There is time for fun and that was not the appropriate time...

That is so insensitive. I'm sorry for your loss, OP.
And he's probably reading this very story right now. Busted sir!
