Today, I began my job volunteering at an orphanage in Beijing, China, working with 7-year-olds who just started learning english. We played a game where, if you got caught, you had to sing a song. I got caught, so I chose the ABCs. They all knew the song perfectly, I missed 3 letters. FML

I'm just surprised that you wrote this without any spelling errors.

How do you miss 3 letters? If you're voulunteering, you should know it.

how the **** is it possible to forget your ABCs?!?!?

I actually find the comments more amusing than the actual FML most of the time and this is a classic example. Most of you are calling the OP an idiot for forgetting THREE letters of the alphabet, and being laughed at by a bunch of 7 year old Chinese kids just beginning to learn english; but really how many of you HAVEN'T made stupid mistakes like that before? Like really, we're all human and therefore not perfect. I also find it amusing the ongoing debate whether his first language is English or Chinese (I know it's not an actual language, I'm just generalizing all of the dialects into one term). Does it really matter? Plenty of Chinese are perfectly bilingual, regardless if they can pronounce certain English sounds correctly or not. I will admit missing 3 letters is amusing, but to be pretty much harassed? That's a little much.

If you're a native English-speaker volunteering in China, this is awful. If you're Chinese and learned English in school, it's not THAT bad.
