I can only guess by the description that you bought a Lifeproof case. I assume you installed it incorrectly because I have had my phone fall from my pocket while climbing out of the door of a semi it hit the metal steps bounced off and landed in a puddle and my phone and case were 100% fine.

YDI, You only do test drops if there's a warranty for replacement with the case. Even then, why bother?
