Today, I bought my girlfriend two tickets to a Broadway show that was coming through town she really wanted to see. I couldn't attend with her due to work so she said she would take her mom. I found out later she took her ex. Now they're back together, and I paid for the date that made it happen. FML

@98.. maybe he bought the tickets thinking he could go, but something came up ? Like having to fill in for someone, an unanticipated task that only he was trained to handle, or overtime for a significant pay bonus ? Also, some people are close to their parents.

this is why when you buy tickets to an event for someone, YOU keep the tickets. whoever pays, keeps the tickets. what a bitch...don't worry she will come crawling back, although now i have to guess she was seeing her ex the whole time, seems weird that she was just like "hey ex, my bf bought broadway tickets, but he randomly can't go. want to go with me?" you totally deserve better. revenge if you can..
