Today, I broke up with my boyfriend. I had only been dating him for about a month. Thinking he wouldn't take it very hard, I invited him over so I could tell him in person. Little did I know he was going to start crying on my couch and not leave for 5 hours. FML

Today, I went to my boyfriend's apartment to break up with him since he's always busy, and I haven't seen or spoke to him in almost 2 months. I arrived to find out from his landlord that he'd moved out 3 weeks ago, leaving a note saying that we were over. FML

Today, I was making out with my boyfriend. When we took a break and went downstairs, he checked the mail. He had received a letter from his ex-girlfriend, which he opened in front of me. He then began sobbing on my shoulder and broke up with me. He still had to drive me home. FML

Kudos to you for breaking up with him in person rather than by text. He would have probably handled it much worse (like crying for 10 hours on your couch) if you did that.

Well it depends on the person, but I agree with you there. Though if it was me, I'd make sure I'm out of the state after breaking up with the boyfriend over the phone or text. Don't need the ex to become a stalker right off now do we?

YDI, not because you dumped him...but because you invited him over. If you really wanted to do it in person then you should have went to his house instead. Would you rather go to work and learn you're fired when you get there, or learn you got fired before so atleast you can save yourself the trouble of going there.
