Today, I bumped into my ex-boyfriend I still love, and his new girlfriend, who he cheated on me with. Embarrassingly, she was wearing the same top as me. However hers was in size 6, unlike my 16. FML

Yes, but at least I am honest. It has occurred to me that people care more about cheering others up rather then being honest with them. If I was in her situation I would appreciate the honest ones who made me see that I should better myself, not the ones who made me feel content with not being content with my self image.

I totally agree. The friends of mine that are overweight and are trying to lose weight, do tend to come to me for their rants and advice because everyone else just tell them "lol, you're not overweight, lol" which, to someone who is overweight (and I have been) is totally trivialising any hard work they are putting into becoming healthier, whilst I'll be actually answering their questions and being practical about it. Telling a person that is actually trying hard to lose weight that "they're fine" when they are not is fully insulting and doing the same to someone who moans about their weight but won't do anything about it isn't doing them any favours or garning yourself any respect.

16 in the UK is 14 in the US. And depending on the bust and waist size, a top would be either MED or LG. But really a LG. I've lived in the UK for a few years. :-)

a UK size 4 is a US size 0. subtract 4 from UK sizes to convert...so, a 16 is a size 12 US.

Leaving a person for someone else doesn't necessarily indicate that one person's personality is better than another, but rather how well the two involved personalities mesh. Perhaps the OP has the better personality, and her boyfriend is just a ******** who went for someone who may or may not have a more attractive body. Or maybe they have *different* personalities, and her boyfriend is still a ********. I feel bad for the OP, but it sounds like she's better off without him.

Its different in different countries. In the UK and France the tops are numbered (but some shops they are S,M,L)
