They can change it. People get married/divorced all the time and change their names. Sounds like they're just being lazy.
a douchebag by any other name is still a d-bag. find a way to change it
I'm sure if you bitch enough they will change it
Example- I remember FMLer-- "Mrsassypants" kept having people question "Is it MrsAssingPants or MrSassyPants"? The FML Mods did him a favor and easily changed it, finally putting an end to that repetitive question. So why can't the OP's company do it? ***Your situation is heartbreaking regardless. ):
Talk to the IT department, they should be able to make you a new user name, and be able t delete the old one out of the system.
I've had similar problems, IT people can really be the worst. They used to tell me it's impossible even though I knew how to do it and told them that. What did they say? "You lie". Great IT department.
Hey now...no need to judge all IT people by the lazy asshole ones! Some of us can actually be pleasant and helpful!
Of course, I didn't say that. But I was just saying that she might be unlucky, too. And that sucks ass.
They can change it!! Whether they do or not, don't sweat it. In time, you'll meet Mr. Right & that cheater will be a fleeting memory! Don't think too much about it when you're signing in, just treat it as any other user name. You didn't mess up, he did! Good luck, OP!

Your work can't change it, or WON'T change it? That seems like a silly thing to make fully permanent, if they truly cannot change it for you. So sorry to hear about your broken engagement, OP. It's good you found out now, instead of after you were married.
Usernames and tattoos should never be a lovers name. It usually ends badly.
