To be fair I don't think it's totally out there that your parents would be helping you cover some of your bills at 22 if they liked you enough, although #69 makes a fair point that your cable seems like it'd be the first thing to go...although I love premium cable and can't afford it and it's not wholly out there that it might be something I asked my parents to help me with as a gift for a holiday or something. And if they're not helping you pay, then I'm pretty sure that is illegal...
The only way they could possible be able to change any of that stuff is if they pay for it. I'm not sure what your exact situation is, but I'm not gonna lie, it sounds kinda pathetic that you have to have mommy and daddy pay for your cable. #71 makes a fair point that it could be part of a gift or something, but I dunno if I buy it.
Unless they are paying the bill they cannot do that
Unless your parents are on the account and are the ones who pay for it then they'd have no way of doing that. Given that they did I can only assume that you are 22 years old and your mom and dad pay your bills. If you want to be grown up and independent then don't do it with your parents' check book in hand.
Ummm, your parents are idiots, and it's not a joke.
Kill your parents, Kill your parents, Kill your parents, Then, Kill yourself.
That's ******* outrageous.
I'm just echoing what other people said... you shouldn't be letting your parents handle your bills if you don't want them to meddle like that. They'd have no control if they didn't run the cable account. (In other news, ha ha.)

I don't see how your parents could do this, unless they own the cable account and pay your bill (at age 22)... so you deserve this.
Can't you just tell the company to remove the block? If you can't because your parents are paying the bill, then I suggest that you and your roommates start drumming up a little extra cash to pay for your own.
