Today, I came home from work to find my computer smashed into a hundred pieces. My dad threw it at my mom because they were having a fight and my computer was the closest thing to throw. He refuses to fix it. FML

Spousal abuse can go both ways people. The mum might not be an angel, she might have thrown something first. She might have just pushed him to breaking point. My mum used to throw whatever she could get hold of at my dad all the time. One day he got sick of it and threw something back, it hit her. She never threw stuff again after that..

Two things: - Your dad probably won't be able to "fix" your computer if it's smashed into a hundred pieces. But getting him to buy you a new one would be more than fair and appropriate. No matter what happened, he's an ass for throwing a computer at his wife and destroying your things. - How come more than 300 people so far think the kid deserves this? He didn't do anything, his dad is an ass and his computer is broken beyond repair. What was she supposed to have done?

I think people are saying she deserves it because she appears more worried about a broken PC than the fact her dad threw it at her mum.. Although she didn't deserve it people are using it as a way to say 'He could've killed your mum and you're bitching about a stupid PC!'

Your father is abusing your mother. Tell someone (besides FML). It's an uncomfortable truth, but you can stop this. And while you're at it, take a look at the stats on intimate partner violence, and be thankful your mom's still alive. Then help her.
