Today, I came home to find my fiancé trying to do laundry. His version was "rubbing the smelly spots with baby powder". Looks like I'll be the only one doing laundry for the rest of our lives. FML

Those poor excuses for men are the reason why a lot of women think that we guys are "stupid". Such stupid guys are a mistake of their mothers, who did not have the need to teach their sons the basics of house chores - even men should know the basics of house chores and women should know how to change a lightbulb etc, I say. Or he KNOWS how to do laundry and "his version" was planned, because he knew "she will do it herself and I will be free from this boring job"...

Are you sure, that he is trying? I just do not want to believe that he could be so stupid...had he never seen how laundry has to be done? Has he never seen a washing machine? Does he really think that the smell and dirt will go away just by rubbing it with baby powder? Does he really never showers because "a deodorant will do"? That is the exactly same system - if baby powder would be sufficient on the laundry, it should be sufficient on people too. And if people need to shower... ;-) What if he was told something like "You never help me with any chores!" and so he decided "I will show you, I will f..k it a few times and you stop asking me to help and you do it yourself instead and that is what I want!"? I am a guy and I KNOW mens' thinking..."mess it up a few times and they will stop asking for help", so I would not be like "what the?" if this is the case too.

Why is laundry so bad? I have been doing mine for years and I do my sisters and my parents if they are all to busy. Its not hard. In fact it can be relaxing :- why do people make a big deal about it? Op your fiance is fooling you. Dont fall for it!

Doing my own laundry by myself... weird thing in a family I think. Four people for example and each one waiting to have enough dirty laundry to use the washing machine to its fullest... I think that putting a laundry of all the family members together if needed be for using the WM to its fullest by one sort of laundry - why not? Folding or ironing the laundry after washing - yes, the "owner" of the laundry could do it himself or herself, indeed :)

He did this on purpose. Don't you know the best way to get out of a chore is to do a really really bad job? Now is when you teach him how to do the laundry.

Or "thinking in old times" - "house chores are for women, men should care about our home, garden and such". That is now - in the time of apartments - a little outdated system.

I'm so tempted to hit the "you deserve it button" for just accepting that you'll be doing the laundry for the rest of your lives. He KNOWS how to do laundry, he's just trying to get out of the chore and assumes (rightly) that if he does a shit job you'll just do it. Which you've clearly resigned yourself for. Or he sincerely doesn't know how for some unknown reason. Both of these can be solved by showing him how to ******* do laundry. "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish..."
