Sounds much more like dad's problem. If he had money to give to a relative that he probably wouldn't be able to remember, than he obviously wasn't digging too far into his savings.
You see there are two ways of looking at this you can either say you lost money oooooor you can say your smarter than your father
My grandma sent $22,000 to her "boyfriend" named "Mark" from "Europe" after my grandpa died. She was desperate for love and wouldn't listen when we told her he was a scammer. That was her whole retirement. Now she is 70 years old and has to work for a living.
That's so sad! People are getting scammed like this alot now days! I hope he learned a lesson.
Some people are so naive. I had to stop a lot of people from doing the same thing when I worked at a previous job. Most people are thankful, some got very angry. If your dad sent the money through Western Union or MoneyGram he should be able to cancel the transaction if the recipient hasn't already picked it up.
It's times like these where I think that scamming people would be much easier then finding a real job..
idiot! smh

Unless you actually have Mexican relatives, why would he believe it in the first place? Common sense seems to go out the window when someone says, "give me money I need surgery"
You gave him jaun thousand dollars?
