Today, I corrected someone who spelled "learned" as "learnt" on my favorite forum. Nothing could've prepared me for the torrent of abuse that followed from the non-American members. Now I'm banned for "trolling," and all my 7,000+ posts since 2006 are gone forever. FML

Actually both words are correct... Spelt and spelled is another example. Back when I studied languages. We were told english is one of the most difficult languages - even though we are so commonly used to it we still make mistakes and are confused on it's grammar usage only because... well... it is a confusing and difficult language :-)

Since this was a legitimate mistake (and assuming your post 'correcting' the spelling was polite and non-aggressive), you *should* be able to write a politely-worded email (if necessary, from another account) to the forum mods clearly and carefully explaining that this was an innocent, well-intentioned mistake, and work towards resolution (being permitted to post this to original thread, etc)... If you were rude or derogatory in the orininal response, then there'd be little to be done...

I took a test today on "What is it called to insult people of the Internet?"... I got the answer trolling right!!! :D

I'm sorry. That really sucks. I hate it when stupid people think they have an opinion when it comes to grammar. Keep correcting my friend! Language is the only thing we have left!

The operative word here is "correcting". The assumption is that the person doing the correcting is, in fact, correct. In this case they were not.

Hahaha people are so but hurt over everything now days. Butch of pussys

Lol. That means you need a life. Go outside
