Does your son have a pediatrician? talk to them, get a simple examination at his next appointment. It's really that easy.
examination of what?
the only dangerous part of the shot would be the needle if your kid already had chixken pox... a vaccine is an injection of a sterilized or weakened form of the virus so that your bosy can recognize it and your white blood cells can build antibodies to fight of the disease. if your son had the chicken pox before then you could inject a live stream of the virus and he would still be fine
Except you can get chickenpox more than once so giving him a live virus would not only make him contagious but also probably give him chickenpox again..
Though I can't recall ever needing to prove to my school that I've had chicken pox, I have had all of my recommended vaccines and obviously I'm fine haha. Needles really aren't that bad, I have to get blood work done every 6 months (due to a thyroid problem) and it only hurts a little bit. :/ Schools can be a bit ridiculous though. I remember when I had my jaw surgery, when I came back to school with a swollen face and my jaw wired shut they still demanded a note from the hospital for me to be able to not be expelled for my absences...
Just get the shot again, stupid. It's not dangerous. Or couldn't you get a note from the child's pediatrician? That being said, leave it to the Peoples' Republik of Kalifornia to force vaccines on children without parental consent. The best option would be to move out of that terrible state altogether.
@22 - Even if you believed the disproven rumor that vaccinations cause autism - if you son has ALREADY been diagnosed as autistic, you're doing nothing but leaving him unprotected against some very dangerous diseases, which can be lethal. @140 - Viruses are different from bacteria. Immunizations do not cause viruses to become super resistant. Use of anti-biotics, which kill bacteria, when used indiscriminately and improperly (such as people demanding antibiotics to treat viral infections) is what causes super-resistance. What both of these posts, and most of the other anti-vaccination posts prove is that getting your medical advice from the internet is what is really dangerous. Doctors go through many years of intense training, rigorous internships, and ongoing education to make sure they know the best treatments available. Find one you trust, and then TRUST THEM.
I didnt mention viruses I said superbugs which are bacterium not viruses. The person I was replying to said that people not being vaccined is what causes superbugs which is wrong. Not being vaccined causes more cases of the virus but there is not usually a super resistant virus. Your body fights viruses and bacteria with its anti bodies and any form of medicine used against then can eventually make the strain resistant. A vaccine builds up the anti bodies without the body needing to fight off a dangerous illness. My point on extreme cleanliness and superbugs still stands again from an anti bodies stand point. i do not see why my post makes you think I disregard doctors advice. Using the internet to make sure you are not arguing a lot of shite is a whole world of difference to looking up symptoms online. I am in fact pro vaccine not anti vaccine. I am anti taking a drug for everything that ails you. Vaccines are for the biggest nastiest things out there and need to be taken unless you have very good medical reasons otherwise. `
Wow. Which option did you choose? I would have gone with the religious nut.
I've been there! I'm a research assistant in a neuroscience lab, so signing that waiver was really embarrassing.
You make it sound like a research assistant in a neuroscience lab can't be religious. Fail.
