Today, I'd had it with my mom's addiction to weed, so I told her to choose between me or the weed. I'm currently looking on Craigslist for an apartment. FML

While it is true that you aren't addicted to the actual chemical THC in marijuana, you can become "addicted" to the effects it creates. Here's a really crappy example: you don't become addicted to being held at gunpoint by muggers, but you can get addicted to the adrenaline rush, so to get your fix, you'll walk around seedy parts of town with money hanging out your ass to get that rush again.

Cannabis is a safe medicine for 95% of those who use it but like all medicines it isn't for everyone. As someone who smokes medicinally and has done research in the area, and seen first hand the positive influence it can have on someones life, i wonder if mother dearest used for a different problem. Perhaps some compasson? Ask her why she's smoking (something that has never caused a death and helps substitute for harder damaging addictive drugs), rather than judge and condemn.

Haha wow. You can't be addicted to weed. There is no addictive chemical in it. If you do it too often for too long it doesn't even get you high anymore. Maybe your mom is mentally addicted, but she could easily quit if she wanted to. She obviously doesn't want to though. Don't call it her weed "addiction" though.

all of you guys saying weed isn't addicting and giving OP a hard time, are crazy! Weed can lead up to other drugs, I have delt with a ton of dope heads and you saying weed is the best and harmless drug. Well you just wait till you get busted by the cops, set in there with all the cho mos and wife beaters see how you like that.

You basically said, weed can be blamed for people doing other drugs, and weed is harmful because it is illegal. If that's true you could say it is contact with people which lead to doing meth and such, because it is other people that introduce you to new things such as drugs as well as prison rape and general harm from weed could be avoided entirely by: not smoking weed or by changing weed's legal status.

It's that kind of crap putting us further into debt! Maybe if the cops would stop busting people in possession of weed with no intent to sell and having these people take up space in prisons, we could save some damn money in this country.

So, do you genuinely, seriously, literally not know the concept of psychological addiction exists (and accounts for things like gambling addictions)?
