Today, I'd had it with my mom's addiction to weed, so I told her to choose between me or the weed. I'm currently looking on Craigslist for an apartment. FML

While it is true that you aren't addicted to the actual chemical THC in marijuana, you can become "addicted" to the effects it creates. Here's a really crappy example: you don't become addicted to being held at gunpoint by muggers, but you can get addicted to the adrenaline rush, so to get your fix, you'll walk around seedy parts of town with money hanging out your ass to get that rush again.

YDI!! I don't understand why people have such bad feelings towards weed. its used for MEDICINAL PURPOSES. if anything alcohol is much worse than marijuana. take a look at the statistics showing how many people die in a year from alcohol related reasons than match that against how many people die from marijuana related reasons. in my personal experience I've NEVER heard of anyone dying because they were smoking some weed.

Marijuana is one of those issues nobody agrees on. Personally it does not affect me the way it does everyone else. Therefore, I can see why it is illegal and I hate it. If I were you I would have called the cops on her and asked that she recieve help. No one should ever chose anything over their children... especially getting high.

Its physically impossable tobe addicted to weed. It has nothing addictive in it. All yall need todo some research! Weeds not a drug its a plant. And it will be the cure for cancer and every other major dieses once idiots like yall pull your heads out your ass for the truth. Your mother is nowhere near a bad person or anything! "Weed's not a drug, it's a plant." Are you serious? So is tobacco, genius. You CAN become addicted to weed - there is a difference between a chemical addiction and a psychological one. Furthermore, marijuana does not "cure cancer" or any other disease; it just aids with the nausea that comes from undergoing chemotherapy, except for in the cases where it actually makes tumors worse. As it happens, pot has actually been linked with damaging DNA in a manner that increases the risk of cancer. Just FYI.
