Today, I decided to go through my husband's phone to make sure I invited everyone to the surprise party I was planning for him. There were a few I had missed so I called to let them know about it. The last number I called was his girlfriend. FML

Man, that's an awful way of inviting people. I've got all kinds of work aquaintances, service people and friends & relatives of friends in my phone. I wouldn't want them at my party. Not a good marriage if you don't know who his friends are...

First, to those who say to break up with them before you cheat...it's a lot harder when you're married to just break up. Sometimes people go through a period where they need something else. Maybe that guy needed something his wife can't give him and he turned to another. Sure it's a horrible way for her to find out but the fact is, he didn't tell her. If he didn't care at all he wouldn't be so careful not to get caught. He had no idea she'd go through his phone (which you really shouldn't have done but that's a whole other story). He's not scum and you don't deserve it. Sometimes it's not just black and white....

... no, it's still pretty damn black and white. Cheating is a betrayal that breaks the promises a person made when marrying/ agreeing to go steady with his/her partner. I don't care if the partner is the most emotionally distant person in the world-- they don't deserve to be betrayed like that. They deserve honesty and openness, as well as a chance to make things right. Anyone who thinks it's ever ok to do that to another human being is either a terrible, terrible person, or has never had to go through the pain it brings...

Here's an idea for you throw the surprise party still and the humiliate him in front of all his friends by bringing his girlfriend to the party too. And surprise him with a divorce. I dont get mad I get even. You were humiliated why not let him get the same treatment he gave you?

Thats kinda ridiculous! it sounds like a fake excuse to go through his phone and you probably had a sneaking suspision. Besides did she answer the phone " Hello this is______, your husbands girlfriend?" Doubt it! So it sounds like you should've dumped this loser awhile ago....your fault.
