Puck is life.
I schedule my blood donations for the end of the day, around 530pm. Throughout the day I drink at least 4 20oz bottles of water. Right after giving blood I chug another bottle of water, then take a juice for the road. Never had a problem with exerting myself or fainting afterward. Give it a shot; it could work for you too.
Literally me!!!!
I doubt that was "literally" you.
been there, did that OP. except I puked on the ice too.
That sucks. I play hockey too!
The first time I gave blood, I went dog walking at my local animal shelter the next day. It was July and pretty hot. I didn't pass out, but I felt queasy and had to stop. My mother scolded at me for it because she didn't want the volunteers to think I was a quitter or some shit. Because apparently puking would have been better, I suppose.

What did you expect? When you donate blood your body needs time to replenish it and you will be dehydrated until then.
At least you did something good first. Way to go OP. On a side note Hockey is life.
